Originally used in the 18th century as a Russian girya for weighing crops, the kettlebell evolved into a strength training and competition tool thanks to an innovative individual in Russia a century later. In 1996, TACFIT Founder Scott Sonnon encountered kettlebells during his travels to Russia and was inspired by their potential. Partnering with renowned kettlebell experts Pavel Tsatsouline and Valery Fedorenko, Scott integrated TACFIT principles with kettlebell training to create the world's first Kettlebell Fitness Course.
